Urban Notion have previously toured Europe and also appeared with DJ Friction at London’s Shogun Audio at the End.
They have releases on Goldie’s Rufige Label as well as a 12” on German based Phunkfiction recordings and releases on Advanced Recordings and London’s Ruse Records.

Urban Notion is a Drum n Bass collective based in Christchurch, New Zealand, with a shared passion for producing world-class original material, as well as fostering the burgeoning local scene. In a brief time, UN have gone from a group of young DJs with a vision, to an experienced production, performance and promotion team who are making a big impression – at home and abroad.
It began 5 years ago. Inspired by the broad range of talent around them, DJs Switch, Rufio and Gamble began Urban Notion club nights. Their tunes have quickly become a celebrated part of leading Drum n Bass culture, with a number of respected international DJs such as Bailey, Goldie, Total Science, and LTJ Bukem dropping UN sounds into their sets. The production of original material is where Urban Notion currently has its focus – 2008 is set to be another great year for the group, and further material is primed for release in the coming months.

Nymfo - "Ghost Story / Surface Scan" - C.I.A. Deep Kut
Following on from this huge release, C.I.A. have picked up another 2 huge releases from Nymfo; "Space Tourist & Magnetic Field".
Next up, Doc Scott has signed Nymfo - "Social Isolation / Robocall" for his seminal label 31 Records.
Last years tour of New Zealand and Australia gave more reward then just the live shows, Nymfo teamed up with New Zealanders Bulletproof & Teknik to create "Three Of A Kind" forthcoming on Cyanide Records.
Critial recordings have also picked up Nymfo - "Locution" for a future release on Kasra's imprint.
And Source Directs Vampire records have also signed the huge bass heavy, blood sucking beast "Paperboy".

A double A sider that packs some serious punch from a man who has cemented his place in the scene over the past couple of years with a host of high profile releases on labels such as: Renegade hardware, Citrus, Redlight,DSCI4 to name but a few
A. Ulysses
The lead track on this release Ulysses is a journey through Axioms hard edged sound which is both uplifting and nightmarish at the same time. A deep and atmospheric intro with haunting vocal melodies lead you into a dream state before the acid fulled bassline infection takes over creeping through your bones and forcing you to get down and dirty.
AA. Sputnik
Stepping back in for round 2 with Sputnik Axiom paints a bleak picture with this deep techy roller. Sparce swirling sounds create a cavernous soundscape to accompany the piano melody on the intro that builds up the suspence ready for the filthy stomach turning bassline drop that hits hard and fast like a rollercoater ride through the depths on the human mind.

Q. Hi Axiom, tell us a little about where you live and your surroundings.
I live in Switzerland, in the beautiful city of Berne, surrounded by mountains, clean lakes and healthy air, (I compensate with cigarettes and vodka).
Oh, the banks, don’t forget the banks, especially the ubs, they did a great job recently......
Q. Do you think this influences your style of music?
No, I don’t think so. I would end up doing a yodel-ambient-ethno-commercial-fusion, if it influenced me.
Q. Which other music genres do you listen to other then Drum and Bass?
Pretty much everything, depending on my mood.
Winter will mostly be motoerhead, sisters of mercy and some sad, depressing blues.
Q. What's your current Top 5?

Currently I’ve got two 12" on C2D recs (Ulysses, High noon, Moscow nights and sputnik), an uprising 12" (the big spanking and sexdrive) and a habit records 12" (funky fucker and the tardis).
I just signed two tunes to M-Atome, besides that I’m working on new tunes, including some vocal bits with empress.

Nymfo has just landed back in the EU, returning from a phenomenal tour of New Zealand and Australia, remarkably quoted as ‘one of the best international acts ever to reach down under’ with hugely successful shows and making a big impression on the local communities.
2008 has been a big year for Nymfo, following on from 2007 which saw him win ‘Best Dutch Drum and Bass DJ’ for the second time, and his first collaborations with Icicle breaking him into the world scene.
2008 has seen him feature on a number of colossal releases, collaborating with Icicle on the immense ‘Franky Mountain’ on ‘Andy C’s’, ‘Ram Records’ and building on their success with ‘Adrift’ & ‘Green Goblin’ on ‘Crunch Recordings’.
Continually expanding his knowledge for production, collaborations with Proxima saw a big 12” on ‘Frequency Recordings’ with ‘Headless Housefly’ and ‘Knock Knock’ then ‘Boiler Room’ on ‘Crunch Recordings’ as well as ‘Indemnity’ Nymfos first solo release on the same label.
Having received a fantastic foundation working with Icicle and Proxima, Nymfo has been working hard with his solo material; going on to release on the highly admired ‘Critical Records’ with the exciting ‘Cybernetic Disorder’.
Showing no sign of slowing down, Nymfo has a number of solo releases forthcoming in 2009, dropping on some of the scenes leading labels including ‘Total Science’s’, ‘C.I.A. Recordings’, ‘Horizon Music’ & ‘Critical Recordings’.

Having spent the last two years locked in the studio; ‘Insideinfo’ kick started his prolific releases with ‘Concentrate’ and ‘Rumble On Signal’ on DJ Hypes ‘Ganja-Tek’ imprint, then in 2007 ‘Terrafunk’ released the huge ‘The Argonauts’ followed up with the immensely popular ‘Clash’ and ‘Megadrive one’ on ‘Ruse Records’, ‘Insideinfo’ continued his run of unique sounds with ‘Caffeine’ and ‘Perfect Crime’, favorites with many artists around the world, then building from his experiences, his flow and unique style saw the acclaimed ‘Skyhook’ drop on ‘Breed 12 Inches’ sending shock waves around the globe.

IZM Interview.
I know a lot of people were wondering, What inspired your name?
IZM:
I play a fairly wide range of genres from D’n’B via Breaks, Hiphop, Downtempo, Ragga, Techno/Minimal, House to Experimental Electronica, Ambient, Dub and Jazz and with my DJ name I was aiming for something to reflect my ability to fit into various music styles and club environments.
‘Izm’ is a suffix which you can find pinned with different words i.e. turntablizm, junglizm, minimalizm etc. and in a similar way I can be thrown into a number of scenes and well, still rock it.
Furthermore, as some people already know, it was also partially inspired by the pinnacle of modern cinema called ‘Jizm On That Ass Pt.7’ but I guess don’t quote me on that :-P
How long have you been DJing for and what keeps you coming back for more?
IZM:
I first started DJing in 1997 so it’s been 11 years and it’s the music itself that inspires me the most. There are still tons of brilliant new records coming out and tons of great tracks to be dug out of the crates. Another awesome thing about DJing is club playouts, the satisfaction of bringing a positive vibe into the venue and getting it back multiplied by hundreds from the crowd is unbeatable.
We understand you’re originally from Poland and moved to the UK in 2003, shortly after this, you were playing on radio stations Origin FM, Drum And Bass Worldwide, London Live And Direct, Subliminal and Life FM, do you think living in London gives you more opportunity to reach so many people?
IZM:
I like London primarily because it’s pretty much close to anywhere in Europe so it’s a good platform for international DJing and apart from that it has a huge scene of its own so there are always people to collaborate, exchange ideas with and generally be inspired by.
What is also great is the fact that London is a massive music resource, you can find the weirdest and strangest records here and really build up your library. There’s also a lot of history in this place and if you know where to look you can get to the roots of your favourite genre and understand it better.
On top of that I enjoy the speed of life here, it’s pretty much living in the 170bpm range!
With so many DJ’s in the scene today what do you think makes some one stand out from the crowd?
IZM:
A lot of people forget about the performance side of DJing and it’s important to put on a bit of a show when you’re spinning tunes. I believe it’s the whole package that counts though – you need to be a good mixing technician, have a decent track selection, be able to both read and educate the crowd and above all make your personality shine through what you’re doing.
Where would you most like to DJ if you could play anywhere in the world?
IZM:
These days it would either have to be Russia or Japan. Russia because they have the biggest and craziest raves down there, Japan because of the futuristic sci-fi factor and both of them because of the girls being incredibly hot!

You’ve recently been learning the ropes of production, what’s your setup and how’s it going for you so far?
IZM:
My setup consists of Macbook Pro 17” running Logic Studio, NI Komplete and connected to Presonus Firebox Midi Interface / Alesis RA500 Amplifier / Yamaha NS10 replica monitors all coupled with Novation Midi controller.
The last couple of months I’ve spent going through various DVD production courses (mainly from Macprovideo, Steinberg and Native Instruments) and trying things out within my DAW. I started producing and I’ve got a couple of tracks in the works but I’m not rushing things because I want to have a solid knowledgebase and showcase my music when I feel it’s up to standards and 100% ready to get ‘out there’.
And finally, if stung by a Pogonomyrmex ant from North America what would you do?
IZM:
I’d stick the latest Current Value EP on my turntable and brock it out pneumatic drill style. Sick.
