Finally we hit you with Podacst Vol 5, brought to you by the one like Cooh.
The idea behind this mix was to bring the unique sound that Cooh is pushing out right now. Mixing all his favourite styles within the drum and bass genre and putting them together to create a signature sound.
The dubstep genre has had a big influence over the sound of this podcast, which you can hear due to some of Coohs track's under his Balkansky dubstep alias being used in the mix.
38 tunes make up this podcast, 35 of which are by Cooh and others are collabs. He was looking into putting most of his halfstep-experimental dnb tracks into one piece of music that would stand out in dnb history for some time, plus show the people what he is looking for in the future. The majority of tracks in the podcast are either released or forthcoming on labels like: Offkey, Position Chrome, Commercial Suicide, Subsistenz and more. Cooh is glad that the open minded people love to support his new sounds and that well know artists continue to play out his tracks. The mix was created in Ableton Live on air because he wanted to put some more glitch idm'ish stuff to it, so that he could play more sounds in shortened time period.

PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF
Hi,
My name is Ivan Shopov and I am from Bulgaria .
I got into producing after playing bass guitar in some hardcore-metal
band in my home town Troyan and one of the guys in the band showed me
some music software on his pc. As I already loved the electronic
sounds I got into them with all my energy and after few years of
learning the production technics I got some tunes ready to play and
thats how I also started Djing. Moving to Sofia (the
capital) for my art college and meeting some cool people, helped
me a lot too. Also I cant miss mentioning my crew here : H.M.S.U. It
helps me a lot with promoting my sound and doing some huge dnb events
around Bulgaria.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND?
I can describe my sound as really flexible and full of different
elements coming from all the music I loved through the years , like
Metal, Industrial, Hardcore, Techno, IDM, Dub and lots of Jazz and
Funk. All them styles merged together into my own vision for the sound
of the dnb I am doing nowadays.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOUR MUSIC?
Inspiration is everywhere around me. I can get into a track from the
surrounding mess in the city, or from the beauty in nature...even
just the silence, or a few sounds are enough for me to get some ideas
running. I love to experiment with sounds every time I start a
project and discover new sonic fields - thats a really big inspiration
for me too.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
I am workng hard on my idm-downtempo-ambient album for the bulgarian
label Kuker Music with my other alias Balkansky, featuring some of the
biggest names from the Bulgarian ethno jazz scene. Theres another
project I am doing now with Dean Rodell into the fields of deep
electronica, dub and hip hop, called Downhill. Also I am working on
lots of solo dnb tracks , remixes and collabs with people like :
Raiden, The Panacea, Proket, Counterstrike, Dj Hidden, Gain, Lethal &
Khanage , Vengeanze and many more..
WHAT DO YOU HAVE COMING OUT SOON?
It's alot of my own material going to be released in 2008 : 8 track LP
for Position Chrome and 12''s for Offkey, Commercial Suicide, PRSPCT,
Subsistenz, LB, Obscene, Habit and many more..
also dubstep digital and vinyl releases for Subtrakt and Defcome as Balkansky.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU'RE DOING (OR WOULD LIKE TO DO) YOU WANT TO TELL US ABOUT
Actually all the education I get from school and college was in the
Fine Arts and now I am doing lots of artwork when I am out of the
studio. Had my first exhibition in Germany just a few weeks ago and I am
going to do some more fine graphic arts.
Also I got my artwork for my Position Chrome LP done by myself and I
am really looking forward to doing more of this kinda artwork for my
future releases and exhibitions.

To round up 2007 we bring you the 4th Offkey Podcast by our very own boy wonder: Proket.
Proket's production style is a truly original take on drum and bass, and his status is growing steadily.
The idea behind this mix was to bring together the best that 2007 had to offer in terms of the techno
dnb sound while remembering some of the classic tracks that influenced today's pioneers as well as
a taste of whats to come in the coming year.
Tracks such as Offkey's first release 'Machinesoul' by Raiden and Propaganda, sit alongside the
timeless classic 'Messiah' by Konflict. The work of artists such as Kemal and Rob Data and Stakka
and Skynet have had such a noticeable influence on the Offkey sound that it felt right to include some
of their tracks on this podcast.
2007 has been an important year for the Offkey sound, building on the
original concept of Raiden, Propaganda with new ideas from Lethal and Khanage, storming EP's that
announced the true arrival of The Sect and Proket and a slightly melodic take on the sound from
Temper D. 2008 is now a time to think ahead to what is planned, and this podcast gives you a sneak
peak at what's to come. Very exciting ideas have been thrown around by Techno legend Dean Rodell,
and The Dying Punks project with Raiden is sure to blow the mediocre into oblivion. We can look
forward to Raiden's long awaited Chernobyl LP, where we will no doubt hear his true artistic vision
come to the fold without the limitations of the dancefloor. The multi artist Offkey Firm LP is on its way,
and although most of the tracks are being kept locked away until release, its only because we want
it to be the real genre defining album it deserves to be, and judging from what has been decided on so
far, this is going to be worth the wait.
One thing is for sure, Offkey Recordings has landed, is gathering momentum, and is here to stay.
So get ready for the Russian prodigy to represent with the fourth Offkey podcast.

This is a recent set from Russia. At first I didn't want it to be online, but Its spreading around the net with a terrible set list. So, Ive though I'd make it an official download with a full tracklist.
Its shame this set was recorded as I had something much bigger planned.
