holy moly! another anniversary, release number twenty!
to celebrate that, we managed to get two tracks by imaginary forces,
a mysterious producer from the uk. "nobody" has ever seen his face,
he always tries to hide it:
this can be the case because of several reasons however. the obvious one
would be that he is looking so amazing that every girl looking at him
directly falls in love with him. alternatively, the reason of hiding his
face is just of very simple nature again: he owes some people that loads
of money that he does not want to be found because of his promo
pictures. and it is also imaginable (!) that he is a world famous
wrestler (and he can not stop his routine from the wrestling
ring)...
when looking at his myspace page and focus on "his influences"
it gets even more baffling:
karl-heinz stockhausen, john coltrane, klaus schulze or the master
musicians of jajouka (just to name a few). those names form a pretty
eclectic list of musicians with very different types of musical
backgrounds.
to conclude, imaginary forces seems to be something like an enigma, an
amazing-looking, money-owing wrestling superstar who produces music.
music like the two tracks "bounce back" and "empty space".

eRRe - "MEAT WITH TOMATOES" [fishrecordings / FISH018]

there are quite a few nice dishes you can make with meat and tomatoes.
one classic recipe for example would be some great pasta sauce bolognese
(the traditional recipe was registered in 1982 by the bolognese
delegation of "accademia italiana della cucina"), and this is how the
simplest interpretation should be done:
just put some good oliv oil into a pan. heat it up and get onions to it.
wait a bit and add some mashed meat. after a few more minutes you
should add fresh garlic, tomatoes and italian herbs and spices. just stir and
simmer it for a little while and you will get a delicious meal.
another great recipe you could make with meat and tomatoes is a pizza:
to be quick, get yourself a ready-made pizza dough at the supermarket
and roll it out and put the mashed tomatoes on the pizza. afterwards add
meat (like ham for example), vegetables (just as liked) and mozzarella
(or other kinds of cheese). put it into the oven and bake it for ten to
fifteen minutes, you will get a marvelous pizza.
and the famous "gyros" (a greek variant) or "kebap" (the turkish,
persian, caucasian, israeli, asian and some of the african variants) is
a good way to eat meat with tomatoes:
it is a dish consisting of meat which you have to marinate with a spicy
sauce consisting of salt, pepper and some herbs. afterwards grill it on
an upward rotisserie grill and serve with tomato, onion, some kind of
garlic sauce and pita bread.

this time we team up with ukrainian producer b.h. and this untitled ep.
the funny thing is, that in germany b.h. is a shortcut for the english term "bra".
so, we can offer different types of bras now:
"varva" is the first one. most women in varva, ukraine do not wear bras, so this
type of bra is just no bra (woodstock-style)!
"eins zwei drei" is another one. it is made for girls with one, two,
or even three (english for "eins zwei drei") breasts.
"degenerator" is the type of bra for gammer.
"damper" is one made for girls with "hydraulics in their g-string" (common
sentence by world famous entertainer elephant man). now they can have
them in their bras, too!

while there is no generally accepted formal definition of "algorythm",
an informal definition could be "a process that performs some sequence
of operations." for some people, a program is only an algorythm if it
stops eventually. for others, a program is only an algorythm if it stops
before a given number of calculation steps.
a prototypical example of an "algorythm" is stereotype's track to
determine the maximum common divisor of two integers (x and y) which are
greater than one: we follow a series of steps: in step i, we subtract y
from x (being the larger number) and find the remainder, which we call
r1. then we move to step i + 1, where we substract r1 from y, and find
the remainder, which we call r2. if r2=0, we stop and say that r1 is the
greatest common divisor of x and y. if not, we continue, until rn=0.
then rn-1 is the max common division of x and y. this procedure is known
to stop always and the number of subtractions needed is always smaller
than the larger of the two numbers.

CRYPTON - "COMPANY" [fishrecordings / FISH017]

crypton is a producer from russia and there he founded a company which
has the aim to support his will to control the world (lol!).
unfortunately he fails all the time reaching this aim. first, the
company tried to develop a computer software to observe the whole
virtual world, but google was quicker with their efforts. after that he
tried to crash the global economy system but the stock markets did it by
themselves. then he tried to create a robot which looks like will smith,
programmed to become president of the united states. well, obama was
more swift. but now crypton has an improved plan which is even more
evil. if you play his track "company" backwards, you will be hypnotized
and do whatever he wants you to do. just try it out (hehe)!

folks we managed to reach release number thirteen, the unlucky thirteen,
as we say in germany and probably in your country, too. that may be
differ from country to country.
but if we look at some sportsmen we will see that the connection between
number "13" and bad luck is doubtful:
first, basketball-player wilt "the stilt" chamberlain wore the number
thirteen throughout his whole career and he is the holder of 72 (!!!)
official nba records. amazing, isn't it?
second, american football quarterback dan marino played his whole career
with the miami dolphins in the nfl with the number thirteen on his back
and guess what, he is holding 17 nfl records and 31 miami dolphins
records. he is for sure one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history
of american football.

this track comes in the piano version, so it has something to do with an
piano. maybe you will hear some vocal bits by richard clayderman or ray
charles. or may be this is a collab track with lang lang (one of the
most famous piano players of our time). it could also be the first drum
and bass ballad ever featuring barry manilow or some jazz stuff with
duke ellington or even some classical music with ludwig van beethoven or
frederic chopin. maybe it is a dnb musical together with george gershwin
or some crazy free jazz with herbie hancock or something completely new:
drum and bass rock'n'roll with jerry lee lewis.

as promised with the last release (silverfish ep) we celebrate the tenth
release on fish recordings with this special ep named after a certain
species: the goldfish. we chose the goldfish because it is of golden
colour (of course fitting well for an anniversary release) and because the goldfish
is of the same family as koi are (the carp family). well, koi are seen as the most
precious fishes on planet earth, so this is a perfect fit again.
goldfish are amazing animals: scientists proved that goldfish could be
trained to recognize and to react to light signals of different colors.
thus, they have a memory-span of at least three months and can
distinguish between different shapes, colours and sounds. their strong
visual acuity allows them to distinguish between different humans.
goldfish is the fish-species most commonly kept in aquariums (none other
fish-species is kept in aquariums that much). the classic goldfish bowl
is banned in most countries because it is to harmful for goldfish to
live in these without a water pump or a water filter.
the true lifespan of a well-cared-for goldfish in captivity can extend
beyond 10 years. and maybe fish recordings can extend that long either,

qmare comes from zywiec in poland, so it was quite hard for him to find
a way to egypt.
you know, there are more than 4000 km to travel: from poland to
slovakia, over to hungary and romania, from bulgaria over to turkey.
from there to syria and israel and finally to egypt. you have to touch
three continents (europe, asia and africa) and you will have lots of
good times with some of the social, political and cultural
"determinants" in all countries you visit. maybe you get lost somewhere
(lol) or even carried away...but if you get to egypt, your efforts will

brandon miles and tricky pat both are from two mega-cities: one from
portland, maine and one from burlington, vermont. if you look at the
stats you will see that the combined population of these two
metropolises is about 100,000 people. truly amazing!

the most famous son of portland, maine is none other than stephen king,
the world-famous author of horror fiction. the most famous son of

imagine a concert at the metropolitan opera, new york, in the year 2013.
a full orchestra plus lang lang (world famous chinese piano player),
david garrett (world famous german-american violin player) and dragomir
taskov (world famous bulgarian violoncello player) give a long awaited
concert...
well, that will not take place, but if dragomir taskov would have
sticked to his classical education with the piano and the violoncello it
would have could. but his mind was nebulized by drum and bass and
other electronic music and so the world lost a potential brilliant
classical musician. that is great for drum and bass though, hehe,
because dragomir taskov is now known to most of the people by his artist
name "digital soul". so, classic music lacks a big talent, but dnb-world
got a superb producer to be proud of. in this case, dnb owns
classic-music: "GOTCHA!"

KAIZA FEAT TRY AND ERROR - "INUIT" [fishrecordings / FISH010SILVER]

anniversary time! release number 10 is in the pipeline and will bring
you the very special goldfish ep but before that we give you a little
appetizer, the silverfish ep.
this ep contains only one tune because it is only an appetizer and the
silverfish is a very weak and ugly animal with a strange ritual of
reproduction in three phases:
in the first phase, the male and female stand face to face, their
trembling antennae touching, then repeatedly back off and return to this
position. in the second phase the male runs away and the female chases
him. in the third phase the male and female stand side by side and
head-to-tail, with the male vibrating his tail against the female.
finally the male lays a sperm capsule covered in gossamer, which the
female takes into her body via her ovipositor to fertilize the eggs she
will lay later on. pretty bizarre!!!
but inuits (the native people in arctic regions of canada, greenland,
and alaska) have some interesting rituals as well. if two male inuits
fight over the same girl for example, they put up a duell in a special
built igloo. they alternately beat each other on the temple with their
bare hands and the first to pass out loses.
in that context it is even more interesting that an inuit will offer you
the services of his wife when you visit him as a sign of hospitality.
well, together with kaiza featuring try and error we offer you this
track called "inuit" as an appetizer for the goldfish ep (as mentioned

TRY AND ERROR - "SPEAKER BLOW" [fishrecordings / FISH006]
try and error are back on fish recordings:
this time fish recordings brings to you a real (!) tune by try and error
(for those of you who dont know what is meant check out FISH003). and it
is their first solo release. while producing this track the guys managed
to fuck up their monitors, so they figured out that "speaker blow" would
be the perfect name for this track. the funny thing is, that they did
not destroy their speakers while they were making music. they had a
little argument while watching a soccer match together on tv and
started "fun fighting". then one punched the other so "hard" (unintended
but drunk lol) that he fell into the equipment and crushed the monitors.
pretty stupid guys anyways, but they are still young. so you can forgive
them...and dont be afraid: this final version of the track will not
destroy your speakers or headphones.

here is release number seven on fish recordings:
proteus is a greek god. some people think he is the son of poseidon.
homer (not homer simpson!) calls him "the old man of the sea". he is
very clever and able to foretell the future which he does not like that
much (telling others what their future will look like is wack!). he also
is well into carnival: he changes his shape a lot. he then is perceived
as other creatures (such as lions, snakes, leopards and pigs for
example) or even as elements like water or fire. the most important
thing about proteus is, that he is the herdsman of poseidon's seals and
as we all know seals live at the sea. fishes like the sea, too, so this
track perfectly fits fish recordings.

what for christ sake does mefjus mean or stand for?
is this some crazy slang-expression for a new awesome kind of drug:
a totally devastating combination of methamphetamine with some crazy juice (you know like meth with cranberryjuice or something like that)?
or is it even something about wu-tang (like rza saying: "yo! mef jus kicked his ass!")?
it could be a megalomaniac acronym for "M.ale E.uropean F.reak J.acking U.p S.tandards". what do you think?

well, as mentioned in the info-blabla of fish recordings dj zoidberg and
mc moby dick, the guys behind this label are two shiny dilettantes and
so they even manage to release a tune which is not really a tune. some
would call it a tool, most of the people would call it some boring track
in which nothing happens and others would even say this is some
unfinished bullshit not even worth listen. but anyways, it is for free
and you should give it a try that would be no error (lousy wordplay lol)!
btw: try and error are from a small town in hessen, germany. and that is
some real punishment itself, so download the track, spread the word and
make them famous so that they are able to leave this embarassing
department of germany and find some good place to live, start a family
with prosperous kids and say goodbye to drum n bass like everyone else
is doing at the moment.

there is a new net-label called fish recordings:
fish recordings is another one of those unknown, not really needed and
superficial attempts to gain acceptance within an underground
music-scene which are usually called "label".
it is based right in the middle of nowhere (and if you are honest you do
not really want to know!). dj zoidberg and mc moby dick, the two
dilettantes behind this fun project will do a lot to get some attention:
they take some stupid beats, a bit of unfunny artwork and too much silly
promo texts and release it for free (due to the fact that nobody will
buy this crap!)
music should be a fun thing and bring people together to have a good
time. so, dont get fat-assed sitting at your computer, having no friends
and life and being broke all the time like the idiots running this right
here and take the stuff and show it to everybody!
here it is, the first release on fish recordings:

you have to face the truth: dnb is dead, the hype is over and nobody is
selling any records nowadays. young girls are interested in tech-house
and minimal affairs now and so guys follow: parties are empty, labels
have to be shut down and radiostations loose the last listeners.
what is the reason behind this developments?
girls do not want to take part in a scene of bloodthirsty, braineating
and brutal zombies misbehaving on dancefloors and showing how hard they
are by cutting off the arms of others to wave them around. and thats the
main point in most of the tunes at the moment: they are grimey, dark and
bloody all the way...
the artists behind this tune tried to do something different back then.
but this track does not represent the style of them anymore, so they are
back in producing grimey, dark and bloody stuff again for a bunch of
people liking to be bloodthirsty, braineating and brutal who want to
misbehave on dancefloors and show how hard they are by cutting off the
arms of others to wave them around!
