SPOR

Sounding from England and at just 22 years of age, Spor has quickly risen to the forefront edge of Drum & Bass production.

After being introduced to Drum & Bass through a friend around four years ago, Jon began experimenting with software to create his own music. His friend Codex took interest and before long they were producing as 'Final Reckoning', skipping off school to work on tracks, with early influence coming from artists such as Hive, Ram Trilogy and Bad Company.

This alias saw a lot of early progress and development take place, and soon differencing Universities meant that distance & time was an issue and Final Reckoning found it to hard to collaborate.

Jon took on his solo moniker 'Spor', a tag name derived from a combination of one of the first folders of samples he obtained, entitled 'Spore Tactics', and a favourite piece of artwork by a friend (see www.monaux.com). Graffiti outlining eventually meant he would drop the 'e' to leave a more balanced arrangement.

Spor saw a debut release on the 'Damaged Minds' imprint, after friend and early mentor Murphy introduced him to Damage. This was a huge incentive to pursue harder, and soon Spor had attracted further attention. After being headhunted by Chris Renegade, he landing himself an exclusive deal with one of Drum & Bass' most prestigious labels Renegade Hardware, and leading-edge label Barcode. This opened up DJ opportunities, and after playing his first ever set at London's 'The End Club’, Spor has continued to play across the globe.

THE FORCE

THE FORCE, based in the West Midlands (UK), consists of two like minded DJs (MOOD & BURNS) who, after meeting through a mutual friend at a record shop, decided to join forces and collaborate in the studio, this was in January 2002. Five years later, after a lot of hard graft in the studio and after signing to the D STYLE camp (home to Distorted Mind’s & TC), The Force are slowly but surely beginning to make a name for themselves in the worldwide Drum & Bass scene.

After sending out their first Demo CD in 2003, which received some interest from a number of smaller labels, THE FORCE got their first release (The Subject) on Sudden Def records in September 2003. No sooner had they signed The Subject to Sudden Def when Mickey Finn (after hearing the same Demo CD) phoned up showing an interest in what they were doing. This lead to THE FORCE releasing two 12”s with Urban Takeover in 2004, the second of which, (Invasion) received a lot of support from the scenes top DJs, including Mickey Finn, Aphrodite, Grooverider, Nicky Blackmarket, Darren J, Kenny Ken and Peshay to name a few. Also in 2004 THE FORCE signed two 12s to Intercom’s New Skool Blazers series, a label that was set up to showcase new producers that the Ez Rollers were into at the time. Their first release of the series, (Tripswitch) got a lot of support from Krust and Clipz and got played on Grooverider’s Radio 1 show.

In 2005 THE FORCE mainly worked with Mickey Finn & Aphrodite's URBAN TAKEOVER label and it’s sister label SHAKEDOWN. They had several releases with them over the year. Three well received tracks were Dibby Dibby Sound which featured on the Dibby Dibby Sound EP, a remix of Mickey Finn & Aphrodite’s classic Arsonist (which also received good support and some airplay on 1xtra) and 'MURDER SOUND' which came on SHAKEDOWN at the tail end of the year.

2006 saw THE FORCE build up a working relationship with the D STYLE camp, with two releases on their STEREOTYPE label Keep Rockin b/w Untouchable and War Games b/w Dub 2 Africa (the later of which went into the charts on the Radio1 / 1Xtra DnB Chart). Also in 2006 THE FORCE released What Happens Here? on Calypso Muzak (which has just recently had the remix treatment from Germany Bad Boy Producer DJ Connecta) and Faithless on the So Many EP on J Majiks Infrared imprint

*** UPDATE ***
So far 2007 has seen THE FORCE sign an exclusive deal with D STYLE RECORDS. Which means they will be releasing over their two labels D STYLE / STEREOTYPE and will be appearing regulaly at their weekly DnB night RUN in Bristol. Release-wise, in 2007 THE FORCE have released Dropzone b/w What You've All Been Waiting For and Something Out There b/w Hitman on STEREOTYPE both of which have recieved support from the likes of D Minds, TC, Eddie K, Gerard (KISS), Bryan G, Adam F, Clipz, SS, Grooverider, Crissy Criss (1Xtra), Majistrate, Futurebound, Jaydan, plus many more.................

MUTATED FORMS

Making music began as a hobby for the trio of producers / djs known as Mutated Forms hailing from Estonia. Original members Alexander (Zub) and Artiom (G-ruff) (3 rd member Alex H - joined the crew in 2004)started experimenting with different genres of electronic music using any and all software they could find. It was at the beginning of 2004 when MF's tunes first began appearing on various drum and bass CD-compilations. During the course of 2004 they released an album on Prosvet Records, a Russian label, called 'MF Project - No Limits'. The album was mostly jump up tunes but also consisted of liquid funk and a few experimental tracks and was well received by the drum and bass audience and critics, gaining the MF team further recognition. Then in 2005 they released again on an experimental label called Exegene Records. In recognition of their up-coming talent, UK drum and bass pioneer and label boss of the mighty Formation Records, Dj SS began keeping a close eye on their music and progress.

It was their track 'My Feeling&' that finally got released on the Formation powered imprint World Of Drum'n'Bass Records catapulting the trios music further towards the mainstream of drum and bass music. Not content at Identity, proving their value as international drum and bass artists.
Their studio productions are individually unique, never reliant of formulaic trends, each being notably different from the last, but all in all sprinkled with that distinct Mutated Forms magic. With these dance floor friendly sounds, and wobbly liquidness, it is no wonder the likes of dnb heavyweight DJ's such as Bailey, Hype, SS, Kane, Sappo are currently supporting their tracks on the circuit.

Their popular ultimate dance floor sound as producers mirrors their live performance as djs, balancing versatile and dynamic sets capable of pushing the boundaries of techy, through to jump up sound with lick of funk. Whatever gets the dancefloor moving!

Now firmly entrenched and supported by the Formation camp and regularly smashing sets at the now world famous World Of Drum and Bass party series, the Mutated Forms trio are fast becoming hot property on the international drum and bass circuit. keep your ears out for Mutated Forms with their forthcoming releases on Formation Records, their new fortnightly radio show on Nu Era Radio and on dance floors across the globe and in their regions Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Slovakia, Finland, Lithuania where they are best known for their live skills so far.

MC/VOCALIST CHICKFACTOR

Chickfactor is a 23 year old MC/Vocalist and DJ. Music and theatre are her true passions since childhood. At the age of 7 she started with piano lessons. Naturally her love for music developed into singing and in high-school she took part in a wide variety of singing contests.

Her singing style can be described as very emotional, refreshing and versatile. As it should be, with influences from such as Moloko's singer Roisin Murphy, Beady Belle and MC Tali, just to name a few.

In 2004 she became singer in band called Heel Mooi. Heel Mooi`s style is as hard to define as Chickfactor`s singing style. Let`s call it indie-funky-proge-punk-ska band. Right now though, Heel Mooi is on a break.

Chickfactor has used her talents in various musical projects: as a singer and actor in a musical „Risk“, as a vocalist in theatrical shows, as a vocalist in UrbanNature D´n b parties and of course as a DJ.

In summer 2005 Chickfactor finally dared to go behind the turntables to learn more about her beloved d`n b. She started to practice and her first gig in November convinced her that she`s on a right course. Since then she has spun the plates at various local events – TBK parties @Haapsalu, UrbanNature events @Tallinn etc. In June 2007 Chickfactor performed both as DJ and MC at Airport Jam 2007.

Chickfactor favors the harder and more dance oriented style of drum’n’bass. But as her DJ skills are contiously evolving, she is starting to bring also other rhythms into her DJ-sets and don`t be suprised to suddenly find yourself hopping to the sound of dubstep.

In 2006 she teamed up with DJ Loudy and DJ Marcus. Their first production was „Ex Nihilo“ and it was released in June 2006.

In June 2007 DJ Marcus and Chickfactor made mix called “We`re All Cuckoo” – all lyrics and vocals by Chickfactor.
