LOMAX Joins GRAM Agency ! Book Now !!

GRAM Agency is proud to present its newest member:

Lomax [Critical :: Spearhead :: Innerground :: Ram :: CIA]

Hailing from Amersham in Buckinghamshire, Nick Hill AKA Lomax has always had a very musical background. A piano player from a young age, and with a degree in music behind him, he was first introduced to drum and bass by the sounds of LTJ Bukem and John B back in 1997, and from then on he began producing in his bedroom in 2000.

As the original member of cult drum and bass collective HoldTight, Nick had several releases on such labels as Industry, Renegade and React to name just a few, and has since been extremely busy on the production front since 2003, when HoldTight's first two tunes, 'Dirty Habits' and '925' were championed by Andy C and licensed for the Nightlife compilation and J Majik's Fabric mix CD. HoldTight were also responsible for the much talked about official D&B remix of Candi Staton's dance classic 'You've Got The Love', remixing the UK hip hop anthem 'UK Bubblers' by Skitz, Rodney P and Skeme, and also remixing for Hospital Records covering Cyantific's 'Output'. Following HoldTight's album release, Lomax spread his wings and went solo, pursuing a more minimal sound.

A few years on and many tunes down the line, he is now based in Bristol and is very much a part of the lively drum & bass community that resides there. Having worked closely with Kubiks & BCee from Rubik Records, with releases on Labels such as Liquid V and Innerground, Lomax has really come into his own as a solo artist and by the end of 2007 had released on Critical, Bingo, Integral and Ram Records (with Xample), and produced one of the tunes of the year, 'Artisan' on Bounce records, with the huge classic ‘Artisan VIP’ licensed to Andy C’s ‘Nightlife 4’ compilation. His tune ‘5 Weeks’ has become a big favourite of many DJs, with support from Zinc who included it on the ‘Watch the Ride’ mix series. With support and interest from many of the major players in Drum & Bass, big things are lined up in 2008 and beyond with releases scheduled in for Ram and Frequency.
