The shadowy producer/multi-instrumentalist from the North of England was initially just as interested in exploring the possibilities of a post-dubstep landscape as were most of his UK contemporaries. His debut EP, Patterns, was a promising outing of gritty garage, with moody chords, pitched R&B vocals, and shuffling percussion strewn throughout its three cuts. But somewhere down the line, he began to move his efforts towards the abstract side of house.
One of the things that Gerry Read brought to the table was murk. On Ramp sub-label Fourth Wave he unleashed a trilogy of EPs which toyed with a rough and ready house and techno template, sampling anything and everything and chucking it all together into sketchy yet essential tracks which made you feel, think and dance.
Now 20 years old, Gerry Read's future is wide open, and the Suffolk County resident appears to be poised to make 2012 as prolific as his first year on the scene with a forthcoming debut full-length (which he's also done the artwork for) set to drop sometime in the near future on Fourth Wave.
Raw, urgent and frequently off kilter, Gerry’s production challenges your ears but always manages to lock in the groove!

Andreas Kask aka Kazk has been connected to music as long as he can remember, but started producing his own music about a year ago. He experiments with different eras and styles of house and techno, instinctively mixing elements of ambient, disco and whatever catches his attention.
