[b]Invasion presents :
Technical Itch
Back in 1991 Mark Caro (aka technical itch) was based in Birmingham, DJing at local parties & started out on the production trail with a very limited set up. As his musical production skills and talent developed Mark's unit became more professional and he released tracks as ENTT through the Ibiza label. Mark had by now hooked up with Darren Beale (Decoder now member of band Kosheen) forming a partnership on the first Plasmic Life EP that appeared on the Brain imprint. Further releases ensued, but Mark had the desire to set up his own label, and so Technical Itch Recordings was launched. The label successfully took off, especially with the support of Kenny Ken, who played a selection of Technical Itch tracks on Kiss FM. The rewards began to reap and all of Marks hard work began to pay off. On the back of this exposure the Technical Itch name was signed to 'Moving Shadow' and the label was renamed Tech Itch Recordings. By this time Mark was settled in Bristol and in partnership with Darren, as they say - the rest is history.
With strong links to Moving Shadow over the years Tech Itch Recordings has been playing a major part in the Drum and Bass worldwide scene. Mark's original tracks are widely renowned for their unique style, high level of production and programming, examples of which can be heard in recent tunes such tunes as The Rukus, Whrilwind and Heavy Metal.
With over 32 releases on the Tech Itch label and a new sister label, Penetration - Marks stronghold over the drum and bass community is without question. Easily one of the most sought after and heralded producers in the scene.
The natural progression came for Mark to expand into working on more long-term projects. Besides Decoders Kosheen project, Mark is currently working on two other albums. One with Bristol based MC, Jakes, which involves a variety of styles ranging from Drum and Bass, Hip Hop, Techno and Breakbeat. The latter project sends Mark to familiar grounds, working with Seattle/LA based Barfly, experimenting in an alternative hip hop project known as Morlocks. With the likes of DJ Swamp supplying some cuts and Justin Broadwick (Napalm Death, Godflesh) supplying some fierce guitar, both projects are developing successfully.
Over the years the Tech Itch label has mainly been an outlet for Mark and Darrens music only, with a few guest appearances and joint projects with people such as Ice Minus, Dieselboy, and no one can forget the anthem The Calling with Kemal, as well as collaborations/remixes with Dylan. Although the label receives many demos, so is the standard that very few manage to get through. However, when they do, they really stand out! One demo recently landed on the Tech Itch doorstep from Russia and has led to the signing of two tracks from a duo named Subwave. The next year will definitely see the Tech Itch/Penetration roster grow, especially with Mark and Darren being busier than ever and Benny Benson Boytoy behind the scenes!!
Currently Mark is producing Goldies next album, while being one of the most in demand DJs on Anger Management, playing pretty much every weekend in UK and Europe as well as tours in the US with Circle Management, as well as plans for Pan Asia for Sept 2004! Also set for release in September is the long awaited Technical Freaks album alongside his partner in Slime, Dylan, definitely set to ignite the scene with so seriously sick collaborations from artists such as Bad company, Kryptic Minds, Cartridge (the nasty new boy from Canada), Concord Dawn, C4C, Faith in Chaos and many, many more
as always, Tech Itch is a seriously sick force to be reckoned with in 2004!
Limewax

Limewax doesn't like to be thought of as a child prodigy, but he is, despite his protests, the young Einstein of the Anger / Tech Freak posse. At only 17, he is already producing tracks on par with the big guns, and holding his own in the sickness department!
Born in 1988 (!) he was weaned on hardcore vodka and babushka¹s in Russia and the Ukraine until the tender age of 11, where he then moved to the smoker¹s paradise that is Holland. A classically trained pianist, he began his decent into the griminess of drum and bass through listening to radio shows and breakbeat and ambient. Soon after his 11th birthday, he received some old equipment and began to mess about with atmospherics, and wrote a few symphonies (yes, symphonies - we're talking a young Mozart here!) and soon moved from old beaten up Roland's to getting his head around reason at age 15. From 15 to now has been all hard work, perspiration and ahelluva lot of inspiration!
Limewax's tunes are reminiscent of the dark sci fi landscapes of Technical Itch, the driving dark funk force of Dylan, like a hybrid love child - he is easily one of the most exciting artists to emerge from Europe this year, and without a doubt will remain so for the years ahead! With the soon to be released E.P. on Tech Itch Recordings, as well as tracks such as, The Lawra, Eye's of Evil (a personal fave with the gabba-esque, no-holds-barred attack in the middle of the tune), as well as the 'Slave to Life' and 'Life of Sin' remixes, not to mention all the collaborations with partner in slime SPL (!!)...Limewax may be young in age, but will rock the dance floor like a long established pro!! Mark my words, it is only the beginning...so watch this space!!!
